will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, at Busch Campus Center, Rutgers
University, Piscataway, NJ (Address: 604 Bartholomew Rd, Piscataway, NJ 08854). The symposium is
co-sponsored by the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers
University. Registration is free for Tri-State CACS members. Free breakfast and lunch will also be
provided to all symposium participants.
The annual symposium serves to bring CACS members and nonmember chemists together for
networking and career development. It is open to all students and professionals in chemistry and
related fields. This year's symposium “Innovation and Entrepreneurships in Pharmaceutical and
Chemical R&D” will feature prominent leaders from both pharmaceutical and chemical industries
including Dr. Greg Szpunar, Sr. VP of Pharmaceutical Science and Drug Metabolism at
Schering-Plough Research Institute, Dr. Paul Juniewicz, Sr. VP & Head of Global External
Innovation Access at sanofi-aventis, Dr. Arthur Andrews, VP of Global Drug Product Development

CACS was founded in 1981 as a volunteer-based, non-profit professional organization. CACS
addresses the common interests and concerns of Chinese American chemical professionals. It has
established a mentor program to help new comers gain quick footing in their professional careers in
the US. It presents Young Chemist Awards annually to outstanding high school students to help cultivate
their interests in chemical sciences.
We welcome all members and non-members to the Symposium. Please register on-line at
